We Asked A Leading Political Theorist To Analyse Russell Brand’s Manifesto And He Wasn’t Impressed

Some people think I’m being to harsh on Russell (not that I’m the only one). He’s a clever guy, occasionally quite funny, and his heart is in the right place – it is hard not to empathise with his sense of frustration. Also, I don’t agree with those who criticise his anarchist leanings simply because he is wealthy – poor people don’t have a monopoly on decency or big ideas. I’m being critical because his book reads as an incoherent rant with nothing remotely approaching a realistic vision for change.

Thanks go to Buzzfeed for this entertaining and smart dissection.
